Question by Clint: I have two questions on “Fitness”. I am asking all Fitness Professionals (especially)….?
a) I have been working out for a long time now. I can notice that the amount of weights (more or less all body parts especially… arms & chest) with which I could exercise at age 27/28 has not decreased now. I am about 42 now. So does that mean my strength has not really decreased after a span of say 15 yrs. ??
b) Can I increase muscle mass at this age of 41/42 …at least to some extent. I am fit. I am male & 6′1″. What should my diet & workout plan be more or less ? Should it be a bit heavier weights, more proteins, & more rest days between a particular body part ??
I am from India……..

A) As you get older strength doesn’t go away so much – older people tend to lose speed and power whilst strength can remain.
B) You can gain muscle mass at this age, the worlds strongest man is in his 40’s, try going on menshealth.com and look for a 40’s section.

Question by anonymous: What is “exercise” that researchers mean that promotes neural regeneration?
what type, frequency, etc… fpr example is yoga “exercise” and must only cardio fit the bill?

When you say neural regeneration are you refering to the neurons in your brain? Or have you had some sort of trauma that’s caused nerves to be damaged or severed and you need to do rehabilitation to get them working again? Your best bet would be to see a nerve specialist about the trauma but if it’s neuronal, simple things like IQ tests each day, things tha stimulate cognitive thinking can help with increasing someones memory, etc.
